Solar-Powered Success: D A Cant Breaks Ground Ahead of Development Project

With BAM Construction at Windsor Olympus Academy
BAM Construction have used Oasis welfare units on site for many years, benefiting from the innovation and continuous developments Advanté units bring to site, including the latest EcoLogic Solar range.
The completely self-contained, static cabins are powered by Solar/LPG hybrid technology which generates an impressive renewable electrical power supply all year round, reducing carbon and running costs substantially. Their launch last year received recognition across the industry for their ability to help construction firms achieve their long term carbon reduction targets.
The results that can be achieved from the EcoLogic Solar range have been illustrated brilliantly on a recent BAM Construction site – Windsor Olympus Academy in Birmingham. The £20m new academy project, awarded by the Department of Education, will last 48 weeks in total, with enabling works just being completed. For this first phase of work, the team needed an all-in-one welfare solution which the EcoLogic Solar 1750 delivers – including canteen, full drying room, office and two toilets.
The EcoLogic Solar 1750 was on site for 19 weeks, from March to July 2022, and during that time the Hybrid solar/LPG powered unit did not run the back-up generator. All of the electrical power for the unit came from solar and stored battery energy – meaning no emissions, no generator noise and no fuel costs for electricity over the entire hire.
“Advanté Ecologic Solar is the way forward in the 21st Century. Its silent, carbon-free and has minimal impact on the environment. They serve the site team with fantastic facilities that any team should have at the start of any Project. It does exactly what it says on the tin – best ever welfare unit in the market”
